Our Half- day trips start with a kit out and safety briefing at our site in Hay. This takes approximately 30 minutes to ensure you guys are prepped and ready for you adventure! Once on the water, you can expect to see a number of spectacular and fascinating characters in their natural habitats, including kingfishers, herons, cormorants, swans and otters – all from the prime viewpoint of your canoe. The 5 mile paddle starting from Hay, takes approximately 2-3 hours, finishing at the historic Whitney Toll Bridge.

Starting at the historic grade two listed Whitney toll bridge originally built in 1776, the route takes you on a beautifully quiet stretch of the river; passing the Scar at Brobury and the famous Georgian estate of Moccas. This leg boasts large numbers of Trout and Salmon, with Kingfishers, Otters and Herons spotted regularly.
Our full day trips ( 5-6.5hrs) start with a full kit out and safety briefing at our site at Whitney Bridge at 10.00am for approximately 30 mins. We then get you on the water showing you how to paddle etc and ensuring you are good to go, off you set! The trip is a beautiful 12.5 mile trip, finishing at Bycross campsite. We will be at Bycross to help you off the water and bring you back to your car parked at our site in Whitney.

Our renowned Go Canoeing Guided Adventure Sessions run at weekends, during the school holidays and at other times by arrangement. These sessions are run by our long-standing, hand-picked team of professional British Canoeing Instructors, experts in their field and firmly committed to creating a safe, fun and memorable experience for families, couples, groups and individual paddlers here on our wonderful river.
A bespoke package for groups/families/staff teams etc. We can discuss your ideas and requirements with you and provide a tailor-made quote for anything from a guided paddle to high‑energy activities on the river.
Also available – regular dates throughout the season during school holidays at weekends when Guided Adventure Sessions are available, book a qualified guide for your group or join an existing group.
